Co-op Local Community Fund

We have been selected to receive funding from the Co-op Local Community Fund.  It means that we will get a contribution towards the provision of athletics equipment.  This will be a pre-cursor to the development of a full track and field athletics training facility in Sedgefield.  But we need your help.  The more support we get, the more funding we could receive.  So if you’re a Co-op Member log in to your Co-op Membership account and choose us.  If you’re not a member, please join and support us!

How Does the Fund Work?

Check out the Co-op website for details.  In summary, every time Co-op members buy Co-op branded products and services, from a loaf of bread to planning a funeral, 1% of their spend goes to a local cause. For the 6 months FoSH is part of the fund the money builds up. Throughout the 6 months, members can choose which cause their contribution goes to.

How Do I Select FoSH as my Charity to Support?

Log in to your membership account.  If you are not a member then sign up in store or online.  Once logged in you will see a page similar to the one shown below.  Click the green ‘See causes’ button.

Once you select the green ‘See causes’ button you will see a screen similar to the one below.  If you see different charities then this is because the Co-op in Sedgefield is not your nearest community store and you will instead see charities local to your community.

Click the green ‘Support this’ button below the Friends of Sedgefield Harriers cause and it will change to say ‘You’re supporting this’ and be highlighted in blue (as above).  Now when you use your members card in the Co-op 1% of what you spend on Co-op branded goods will be donated to the Friends of Sedgefield Harriers.

The money we raise from this will be used to purchase athletics equipment such as a high jump, training hurdles, throws circle and discuss/hammer cage as well as storage for the items.

Did you know you can also raise funds for FoSH when you buy goods at Amazon and many other online retailers (at zero cost to yourself)?  These online stores will give us a referral donation.  To see how this works please take a look at our Donate While You Shop page.
